There’s nothing like a big pot of soup or stew when the weather cools down! I can remember growing up my mom would make beef stew and so it is definitely one of my comfort foods. I came across this Slow Cooker Beef Stew recipe on Moms Need to Know a few years ago and now it’s my go-to recipe. It’s got pretty simple ingredients, good flavor and your slow cooker does all of the work so it’s super easy. Last Sunday I threw everything in my slow cooker before church and it cooked all day, the house smelled amazing and when dinner time rolled around it was ready to eat!
Here’s what you’ll need:
You toss the meat with some flour, salt and pepper and put it in the bottom of your slow cooker. Then cut up some veggies and add those on top:
Put some seasonings on top:
Then pour in some broth and water:
Let it cook all day and it has become the best beef stew ever:
So, I admit, stew isn’t necessarily the prettiest dish to look at, but man it tastes good. It’s hearty and warm and delicious. We had this with friends over too and it was a big hit with both the adults and the kids. Just add a simple salad and some rolls and you’ve got a complete meal perfect for cold winter days!
